520			_aThe Information Extraction of an Identification Card using Emgu a project that extracts faces and information in an ID. ID?s are often used in identifying a person identity in a company. Writing the information and obtaining a picture of a company. Writing the information and obtaining a picture of a person would cost time and effort. To help solve this problem, this application is built to help people extract face and information in the ID and records it. In extracting the face and characters, Emgu library is used. Emgu is a wrapper class which can help access the function from OpenCV.openCV is a library that specializesin solving image processing problems like mouth, face and character recognition. OpenCV uses Viola and Jones algorithm to detect faces in the image. In recognizing characters, Tesseract optical character recognition function is used. Tesseract is also included in the Emgu library. This project has encountered a lot of errors in detecting character due to the present of noises in the input images. Using better image filtrations should be used to properly recognize the characters in the image.
