520 _aThe outpouring problem of climate change offshot this study entitled: "Evaluating the effectiveness pf coconut shell as an alternative Raw material for particle board" to address the needs of caring the environment and the threatened biodiversity of the Philippines, the researchers aim to provide an alternative to the materials used in creating a particle board. A particle board is a composite engineered wood producty manufactured from wood particle, such as wood chips, sawmill shavings, or even saw dust, and a synthetic resin or other suitable binder, which is then pressed. At present, particle boards are fabricated from wood particles that remains to be scarce in some countries, including the Philippines. The coconut industry in the country is abundantly widespread among the regions and have been proven to provide resiliency, strength, and durability in any aspect it has been used. As a good alternative, the experiment conducted for this study uses shredded dried coconut shells mixed with wood glue. Throughout the study, the objectives set have been achieved. It has been observed that the alternative particle board, using the coconut shells as the main ingredient, is sturdy and compact. The particle board has gone through test to gauge its sturdiness and compactness achieving the same quality with that of the usual particle boards available in the market.
