By: Alesna, Bryan
Publisher: Cebu City ; CIT-U ; 2014DDC classification: T Al258 2014 Summary: The study entitled ?Evaluation and Investigation of Traffic Light Effectiveness at the intersection Gen. Maxilom Ave.? aimed to determined the effectiveness of the traffic light at the intersection. The study was conducted at the intersection Gen. Maxilom Ave. and Gorordo Ave. it determined the theoretical time of the traffic light and the degree of congestion of the intersection. The study was performed during Mondays, Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays of 2 consecutive weeks. Camcorders or cellular phones were used to take footage of the actual flow of traffic and it was tabulated afterwards. The findings showed that the intersection is congested every peak hours and in the morning of Saturdays. Also, the volume of traffic on each approach fluctuates with time thus a need to change the green time per approach is needed. A conclusion is drawn that the time of each approach of the intersection was not in tune with the actual flow of traffic and has made the intersection congested. The researchers recommend for a change in time for the difference approach in the intersection and the sensors of the intersection should be repaired or changed.
