This project centers on the creation of a client/server application for Asian College of Technology that allows college students to do a semestral evaluation of their teachers. The system specifically aims to automate the processing of evaluation and keeps the results to a safe storage that can be easily retrieved. It therefore hastens the processing of results. It further provides automated processing of transaction that would accurately compute evaluation and generate dynamic and manageable evaluation reports.
To have a perspective as to how the system had been derived, the results were collated and summarized to generate the strong and weak points of the teacher.
The results as to how the students evaluated the teacher in every item in the questionnaire, an equivalent numerical rating are processed by the system which is summarized in accordance to is respective general weighted mean. Of which, a graphical chart provides the visual presentation of the strength and weaknesses of the teacher.
The architectural design of this project was structured through the use of the Model View Controller (MVC) pattern to make it modular and maintainable. The creation and normalization of its database had been done using Microsoft SQL Server 2005. This database was then connected to the Microsoft Visual C#.Net 2005 Professional Edition, a programming language which had been used for the coding using object-oriented approach and designing the graphical user interface of this project. To ease up querying the database, one of Microsoft?s .NET Framework components called Language Integrated Query (LINQ) was being used by the proponent to do away the use of lengthy SQL commands.
The project has been a great help in the side of the evaluators who are the students by letting them evaluate easily all their teachers in one setting. It created a minimal effort in the part of the evaluation in-charge to generate the reports. The process used, maximized the utilization of time, money and effort, thus, the speedy result is at hand.
