Folding house is a portable shelter that can be folded and transferred in times of calamities and other disaster happening in a particular area. It is designed to be affordable so that families earning below average income can avail to this project. The respondents of this study were the residents of SitioMagtalisay, Mabolo, Cebu City. Mabolo is known to be prone to flood when heavy rain poured because of its elevation and location. The researchers made a modified questionnaire as a research instrument in gathering data from 50 respondents in SitioMagtalisay and 25 respondents from different barangay officials and staff in Cebu City. The data gathered by the researchers showed that majority of the respondents are interested in the idea of a folding house but as a temporary shelter only. The overall result showed that more than half of the respondents being surveyed said that folding house is applicable and acceptable in their area. Based on the data gathered, the researchers concluded that folding house can be applied in different areas in Cebu City as a temporary shelter especially during floods and other calamities; however, it can also be a permanent shelter depending on the decision of the future owner that cannot afford to rebuild new houses after a tragedy. It can also be used in resorts as cottages and other outdoor activities for families depending on their needs. With this folding house, whenever the next calamity occurs, the families can easily evacuate with their members by folding the house and transferring immediately with less worries ER -
