Due to this, government and non-government organizations like DPWH and PICE decided to create a program called ?Project Green Engineering Philippines? (PGEP) in an effort to lessen and address the effects of the buildings and construction sector in the subject of global warming. One of the projects that PGEP have is Building PhilGreen Schools which is a community assistance project that aims to build different schools which is incorporates green engineering and sustainability principles in designing and building of classrooms suited for each region in the country. Thus, from the project Building PhilGreen Schools the researchers got an idea to conduct ?An Assessment of Existing School Buildings for Public Secondary Schools in Toledo City as Basis for Proposed Adoption of Green Building Concept? in order to improve its classroom conditions. The study aimed to determine whether there is a need to use green building concepts in constructing or renovating the public secondary school buildings in Toledo City. It also aimed to know the common dilemmas that the respondents have encountered in the school building. From the goals mentioned, the researchers then used descriptive-survey research design. In descriptive-survey design, the researchers distributed questionnaires that provided the answers to the problem statements. After all the data has been collected from 3 different schools (TCSHS, ANHS, and TNVS), the researchers found out that almost all of the respondents (96.34%) found Green School Building as a remedy to the dilemmas they have encountered in their classroom. About 87.84% out of 82 respondents found their classroom conducive for learning and 53.66% thought that their classroom doesn?t need to be renovated. However, there were still problems found and experienced by the respondents inside their classroom. Some of those were hot temperature, water shortage, and noise depending on the situation and condition of the building. The results of the assessment were found to be different due to the location of the school and availability of the resources. For that reasons, the researchers concluded that there is really a need to adopt green building concepts in constructing or renovating public secondary school buildings in Toledo City ER -
