"The Generic Instructor Course provides training for clinical instructors, and is currently a joint course run by Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) and the Resuscitation Council UK (RCUK). The Pocket Guide to Teaching for Clinical Instructors book is currently at 3rd edition, and was published in 2015, therefore the Working Group feel that a new edition is required in order to ensure that the material is up-to-date and relevant. A new edition would fully revise and update the text, as well as adding new sections. The GIC course provides the knowledge and skills necessary for training clinicians from a variety of backgrounds to become Course Instructors on ALSG and RC courses. The course is taught, and its principles are used throughout the world, with thousands of candidates who have completed the course since its inception in 1993"-- Provided by publisher.
