Summary: The HNU Online Library Access is an online library management system software that automates most of the transactions of the different college libraries of Holy Name University, Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Through its data-gathering process, it takes full advantage of the data for effective management of the library and improves processes for decision making. The software uses PHP?s OOP technologies and MySQL as its database storage. It has its own user and administrator control panels that have unique modules. The software connects to the present storage data of the students? class schedules and the faculty?s subject loads and maximizes them to support decisions and provide related information to great extent. The users, which are the students and employees of the university, can search materials online be it in title, author or keyword. The search module maximizes MySQL?s Natural Language search capabilities for stronger relevance. Users can also reserve materials online, view their transaction history and rate of borrowed materials. While students will be informed what materials their instructors have been borrowing, faculty members have the capability to recommend materials based on their current subject loads so that students enrolled on that subject will automatically be informed what materials have been borrowed by his/her students. The administrators, which are the Director of Libraries (DOL) and library staffs, can view transactions that can be use to supplement decisions. Most borrowed materials, materials that no longer been borrowed, libraries with most users, users with most borrowing and daily borrowing are just one of the features that can be viewed by the Director of Libraries. These transactions can be displayed in graphical forms for a clearer view and can be produced in PDF formats. The DOL can offer discounted due dates for materials that have not been borrowed yet. Library staffs, on the other hand, can release reserved materials based on given data. For clearance purposes, the system can also produce lists of users who have unreturned materials.Item type | Current location | Home library | Call number | Status | Date due | Barcode | Item holds |
