Description: vii, 52 leaves : 29 cmContent type: text Media type: unmediated Carrier type: volumeSubject(s): College graduates -- Employment | EmployabilityDDC classification: 331.11 Dissertation note: Research -- Cebu Institute of Technology - University, June 2008. Summary: The CIT graduate tracer study covered the school year 2001 to 2004. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the employability of CIT graduates right after attaining their degree as well as to assess their current employment status. This study also aimed to investigate the factors that affect employability, the competencies considered most useful and the reasons for unemployment. Among the results, it was found out that approximately 80% of the CIT graduates during school year 2001 to 2004 are presently employed, most of whom are working locally. Most of the graduates were working as professionals during their first jobs as well as in their present jobs. The average waiting time before they landed on their first job is quite short, between 6 months to 1 year. However, the average gross monthly income on the first job is quite low, ranging between 5000 to 10000 pesos. Job compensation is the main reason for accepting and changing jobs. Some of the main reasons for unemployment are no job opportunity, family concerns, and lack of experience. Human relations and interpersonal skills are competencies acquired in college that are considered to be most useful in the job.
