The study sought to answer the following (1) the profile of the barangay tanods in terms of age, gender, educational attainment, years of service, socio-economic stability, civil status, training program that they joined or any accreditation they received, previous job, and how they become a tanod. (2) The emotional intelligence of the barangay tanods as perceived by barangay captain, chief tanod, and the community. (3) The actual cases that the barangay tanods handled and their behavior as perceived by barangay captain, chief tanod, and community. (4) The possible enhancement programs that can be designed. In gathering the data, two kinds of questionnaires were used. The researchers used their self-made questionnaires in collecting important data's needed for the thorough analysis of the study. The researcher also employed a tool in which it was based from Sumita Rao's Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire. Books and unpublished journals were also used for additional information to support the study.
