This is the place of buying and selling goods, products and commodities and a primary source of fresh and affordable vegetables, meats and fishes. Public market consist of area and spaces where goods, products and commodities are placed and sold, stallholders who use these spaces, customer who buys from the stallholders and market personnel who supervises the activities of stallholders and maintenance of public market. A public market must have proper space allocation of stalls, aisles, hallways, comfort rooms, sitting areas and other facilities for the easement, safety, and enjoyment of the people who buy and sell. This study assesses the effectiveness of space allocation in the existing of Pardo Public Market. It involves the rented spaces of stallholders such as stalls for wet and dry section and comfort room; aisles, hallways and passages for walking and searching; and areas such as sitting or waiting area and baggers counter for the convenience of the customers. The goal of this study is to recommend solutions to the problems encountered by the stallholders, customers and through observation. Through these recommendations, the researches expect and hoping that it can help stallholders to work more productively and customers will enjoy, become more comfortable and always welcome in doing their marketing. A public market must have proper space allocation of stalls, aisles, and comfort rooms, sitting areas and other facilities for the easement, safety, and enjoyment of the people who buy and sell in the market. Based on the gathered data, findings and analysis, space allocation of Pardo Public Market is therefore effective in terms of meeting the minimum standards implemented by the IRR of Public Markets, but there is a problem on the space allocation for aisles and passageways that effective the movements of customers.
