In an optical recognition system, this is the most critical part. Efficient way of detecting the lips is needed to extract features accurately. The system provides a simple way but efficient way to detect lips. The system used EMGU Mouth Detection library to detect the mouth of the speaker. This also used color correlation for segmentation of the lips. Morphological filtering was used for nose reduction. For the localization of the lips, the system used blob detection from the less noisy image. For lip contour extraction, the system uses EMGU find contour library.
