Trauma, coping mechanism, and level of resilience among selected Filipino soldiers

However, it is difficult to achieve resilience depending only at one point. Soldier face many adversities such as witnessing how war casualties take place. By these adversities they tend to become vulnerable from rauma and anxiety, some if not treated can developed psychological problems such osttraumatica Tress Disorder (PTSD), Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) and other problem, the Armed Forces of the Philippines implemented resilience enhancement programs to protect the welfare of Filipino soldiers. Over decades, there were few investigations prior to the resilience of the Filipino soldier, thus the research came into a study to determine more factors that van potentially contribute to the development of resilience of Filipino soldiers. Using qualitative method, researchers utilized unstructured interview to determine potential factors that can strengthen the level of resilience of Filipino soldier. The researchers found out that Filipino soldier rely most of their social relationship such as their family and comrades. By this factor, Filipino soldier seek positive social support to deal their problem effectively thus is considered as a way to cope with their problems and become resilient.Aside from the social relationship, research participants rely also to their self and religious faith.
