Summary, etc This compilation contains the feasibility study of using rainwater in flushing water closets in Cebu Institute of Technology ? University Main Building arising from the problem with the insufficiency of flushing water in the main building comfort rooms and in adapting environmental awareness by finding a way to utilize rainwater. It contains the method in solving the problem and in justifying the doubts of the sufficiency of rainwater collected in supplying flushing water in the main building comfort rooms.<br/> The researchers consulted the help of the instructors in starting the study and cited books, articles, and websites which are relevant in the completion of the study. The researchers also refer to the people who are greatly knowledgeable of the study. <br/> The researchers acquired the volume of rainwater to be collected to compensate for the insufficiency of flushing water in the main building comfort rooms through data acquired from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). The researchers also provided the design of four storage tanks, slab for the storage tanks, and the method of collection and distribution of rainwater. The construction cost of the storage tanks and slabs and the rate of return of the project are determined.<br/> Due to the additional loadings, the existing structural members were considered and investigated. The existing structural members of Cebu Institute of Technology ? University Main Building cannot bear the additional loading due to the weight of the storage tanks and stored rainwater. To compensate for the excess loads, Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) will be attached to the slab, beams and columns as a retrofitting material.<br/> The pay-out is equal to 52.9 years. The cost in the construction of storage tanks will take a long period of time for the institution to recover its capital. With basis on the sufficiency of using rainwater in flushing water closets in Cebu Institute of Technology ? University, the study is technically feasible. With basis on the construction of 4 storage tanks and the application of retrofitting material, the study is considered to be not economically viable.
