Ipod application - Cebu City CIT-U 2011

IOS Jailbreaking is a process that allows users of iOS-platform devices to gain full access to unlock all the features of the mobile platform, removing limitations enforced by Apple. Jailbreakin allows users to download additional applications, extensions and themes that are not availiable in the official AppStore. Jay Freeman, creator of Cydia, which acts as the appstore for jailbroken devices, estimates that more that 10% of all iPhones are jailbroken[1]. There are many methods of jailbraeking and a number of software for this purpose are available for download over the internet. The software used for the jailbreaking of the iPod touch is Redsnow 0.9.6rc8.
This project aims to develop an iOS application that wil run on a device that runs on the iOsS platform. Since the absence of certificates issued by Apple after enrolling in one of their Developer programs, Jailbreaking the device is necessary. This application features CIT-University?s logo which can be dragged, pinched/unpinched, and follow movements of the device using its built-in accelerometer.
Through this project, the proponents were able to deploy Apple?s Mac OS X, develop apps on Xcode and Interface Builder and found a way to deploy applications from Xcode to the jailbroken device by patching the IDE. This may also be considered to take up iOS development in the future.
